Tom Violante earned his Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from the University of Michigan. After a successful 15-year career in manufacturing management and sales engineering, he joined his family business, Holiday Market, in 2000.

At Holiday Market, Tom transformed the company by emphasizing culinary innovation and food service excellence. He expanded the store’s footprint, launched a full-service catering division, and more than doubled revenue through a strategic focus on prepared foods and high-quality service.

In 2008, Tom was recognized as Royal Oak’s Citizen of the Year for his outstanding community involvement, particularly his leadership and volunteer work with the Boys & Girls Club (now Metro Detroit Youth Clubs).

Building on his passion for food and hospitality, Tom co-founded Sushi Kabar in 2011 with partner Patrick VanLehn. What began as a small concept has grown into a national brand with more than 220 locations across the United States and a thriving catering division serving the Metro Detroit area.
